SEBI Launches ‘Samajh Se Investing Simple’ Investor Awareness Campaign Under Project Jagrook

The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) has started the ‘Samajh Se Investing Simple’ initiative as a part of Project Jagrook to boost investor awareness, help understand complex financial terminologies, and make better investment decisions. The initiative was officially launched on October 5, 2026, at Panjab University, Chandigarh, which is the start of World Investor Week 2026.
What Is the Samajh Se Investing Simple Campaign?
The Samajh Se Investing Simple project emphasizes providing information about investments which is comprehensible by people prior to investing in financial instruments. SEBI encourages investors to know about features of an investment as well as its risks and suitability and not rely only on recommendations or promotions. Verifying investment websites and payment requests prior to conducting any transaction is another point covered within the scope of the initiative as more investors are using online platforms in order to access securities-market products and services.
Project Jagrook Extends the Scope of Investor Awareness Campaign
Project Jagrook is the nation-wide awareness initiative conducted by SEBI aiming at expanding the target group of financial education in different languages and using different approaches, both physical and digital ones. The project is implemented by SEBI in collaboration with securities market players such as NISM, BSE, NSE, MCX, CDSL, NSDL and AMFI. Interactive techniques have also been applied in conducting the campaign. For example, an investor awareness fair held in Chandigarh provided information about investment opportunities and investor protection.
MUST Initiative for Students
As one of the latest initiatives of Project Jagrook, SEBI has launched a program called MUST – Mentoring of University/College Students by Trainers. The program is aimed at improving financial literacy and making young people aware of securities markets and the principles of investment.
SEBI has also become available on WhatsApp through which the investor awareness programs will be conducted.
The Importance of Investor Awareness
The growing involvement of India in financial markets has made it necessary for investors to have reliable information about various issues concerning the market and investments in general. SEBI investor awareness campaign is targeted to ensure that this involvement is accompanied by sufficient knowledge and awareness.
With the Samajh Se Investing Simple and Project Jagrook initiatives, SEBI focuses more on the simple principle of investor awareness: “investors must understand before they invest”.
