iPhone Duo Review Out: Key Findings, Camera Tests and Pricing Details

The new foldable phone by Apple, called the iPhone Duo, has finally garnered some reviews that give an idea about the phone’s build, camera functionality, battery life, and overall usability. In a period of five days since the launch of the product, the reviewers have found it to be highly premium in build, display and performance but lacking in software optimization and multitasking abilities.
The iPhone Duo was released in September 2026 and is the company’s first foldable phone, competing against other brands such as Samsung in this category.
iPhone Duo Review: Design and Display Performance
iPhone Duo is designed with a folding mechanism which has an inner screen of 7.6 inches and an outer one of 5.4 inches. The Titanium body, along with the hinge design and Ceramic Shield, gives it a premium design.
It was noted that the hinge mechanism is very solid and the build quality is reliable for everyday usage but the weight of the device at 254 grams is not easy to get used to, especially with the normal smartphones.
It runs on Apple’s A20 Pro chip with 12GB RAM and performs smoothly while using social media apps, games, editing documents, and streaming videos.
iPhone Duo Camera Test: What Reviewers Found
The camera system includes two 48MP rear sensors:
- 48MP Fusion Main Camera: Designed for detailed everyday photography, improved low-light performance and optical-quality 2x zoom.
- 48MP Fusion Ultra Wide Camera: Captures wider scenes and landscapes.
The smartphone also has a 12MP Center Stage front camera within the cover display and an under-display camera within the inner screen.
In reviews, testers noted high-quality photographs, dependable low-light performance and superb video recording. The folding feature provides more options for taking photos, such as hands-free photo capturing by unfolding the smartphone partially.
Unfortunately, there is no specialized telephoto lens to provide zooming opportunities. People, who love to take pictures of distant objects, will prefer the iPhone 18 Pro series.
Battery Life and Software Experience
The battery life was revealed to be one of the best traits of the gadget. The sources mentioned that the iPhone Duo works up to two days with regular use and up to one and a half days with intensive use.
Even with all the excellent hardware, there are some improvements to make in terms of software. There are some third-party apps that don’t utilize the big screen properly, and multitasking seems to be a bit rougher compared to a high-end foldable device.
Another difference from previous models is the absence of Face ID and the presence of Touch ID in the side button.
Is the iPhone Duo Worth Buying?
The iPhone Duo is a great product that has all of the desirable features such as foldable design, top-tier performance, great battery life and good cameras. But the nearly ₹3 lakh price tag makes it not a budget option.
For people who want a bigger screen to watch movies, multitask, and stay productive, the phone will be an appealing option. But for those focused on better cameras, software optimization and value for money, the traditional flagships might suit them well.
The first-ever foldable iPhone made by Apple is an excellent base for future generations.
