Union Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Mr. Anurag Thakur is in the good books of the Netflix cofounder. Having gone in the footsteps of the country’s leadership, Mr. Narendra Modi, his gesture of presenting a copy of the Bhagwat Gita to Mr. Reed Hastings went extremely well with the social media community. Visiting India recently and in conversation with the young politician, he appreciated Thakur’s gesture.
Putting his best Indian foot forward, their discussion concluded that indeed India has some great content to offer to the OTT platform that is one of the highest watched with a massive subscriber base in the world.

Taking to Instagram, Mr. Thakur’s image made a huge positive impact. “Good discussion with Mr. Reed Hastings (Co-Founder & CEO Netflix),” Mr. Thakur wrote while sharing the pictures on Instagram. “Today consumers of content are traveling the world through stories; India offers a variety of opportunities and ideas – in multiple languages,” he said.
