Jacqueline Fernandez asked to not leave the country as she tries to leave Mumbai Airport
Mumbai -Film actress Jacqueline Fernandez was detained at the Mumbai airport on Sunday when she tried to leave the country during the ongoing extortion charges against her.
She was stopped at the airport by the immigration officials due to a LOC (Look Out Circular). As per the latest developments in the case, the Enforcement Directorate had opened a LOC against Fernandez due to her alleged involvement in the Sukesh Chandrasekar case.
The actor was set to go to Dubai for a show but she was detained at the Airport. She was, later on, let go after questioning and now as per reports, she is set to appear before the probe agency in Delhi. Now, the ED has decided to issue fresh summons to her to appear in front of the officials.
The ED has filed a detailed report in a Delhi court where they have accused Sukesh Chandrasekar as a conman saying that he along with others is involved in a 200-crore money laundering case. They said that he had extorted the amount from a businessman’s wife while he was lodged in Tihar jail.
The agency later on found out that the Race 3 actor also had links in the matter. She had received money from Chandrasekar and financial receipts are evidence to it. Other than that, she had also received gifts such as a horse worth ₹ 52 lakh and a Persian cat worth ₹ 9 lakh. The investigation is still going on and hence, the actor has not yet directly been charged with anything but the links are too strong to be avoided and hence the agency is going ahead with the questioning.
