DFS Launches Nationwide Financial Inclusion Saturation Campaign: Check Key Dates and Benefits

Department of Financial Services (DFS) under the Ministry of Finance is undertaking a country-wide Financial Inclusion Saturation Mission to facilitate access to banking services, insurance, and pension schemes. The mission period is from October 21, 2026 to December 31, 2026 and the aim is to reach out to approximately 2.70 lakh Gram Panchayats and Urban Local Bodies in India.
The mission will provide easy access to banking facilities to eligible individuals through banking camps set up by banks. The mission is also aimed at connecting those who have remained outside the formal financial system to government schemes and helping individuals with their banking formalities.
Financial Inclusion Campaign 2026: Key Dates
The campaign will run from 21st October, 2026 to 31st December, 2026. In this phase, the banks will conduct outreaches through camps to enrol customers, update their records and raise awareness regarding financial services.
The program will also aim at locating beneficiaries who have not availed any government scheme so far. The states’ administration, banks and DFS will keep track of the progress made during this campaign.
Major Schemes and Benefits
The campaign will assist in enrolment in the following three important social security schemes: Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana (PMJJBY) – scheme for life insurance; Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY) – scheme for accident insurance; and Atal Pension Yojana (APY) scheme, where eligible subscribers will be assisted to create retirement income.
Banks will also assist the eligible people in the opening of Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana (PMJDY) accounts. For the existing customers of the banks, the camps will be useful for completion of re-KYC process, generation of C-KYC identity numbers (where applicable) and nomination in saving account and lockers.
Agri Credit and Insurance Awareness Campaign
Banks will also assist in accessing Kisan Credit Card (KCC) application forms by the eligible PM-Kisan beneficiaries and will encourage them to enroll under the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY) for the upcoming Rabi season.
Awareness sessions will also be conducted regarding digital banking frauds, financial safety and the government’s scheme ‘Aapki Poonji, Aapka Adhikar’ in respect of unclaimed financial assets.
How Can Citizens Participate?
An individual who is eligible to participate can get in touch with his or her nearest bank branch or local banking representative to know the time when camps will be organized at their location. They should be armed with necessary identity proofs, Aadhaar number if any, and current banking details.
The nationwide drive provides the chance for eligible persons to participate in the social security schemes and become financially aware before the deadline of December 31.
