Thailand and Nepal Secure Spots in Women’s T20 World Cup Qualifier

Thailand and Nepal came out on top in the Asian qualifiers, which secures them a spot in the 2026 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Global Qualifier. Both rival teams showcased great strength and spirit as they competed in the Super Three contest in Bangkok.

Nepal booked their place by defeating the UAE by five wickets on Monday. After Upadhyay’s 4/20 helped Nepal bowl out their opponents for 114/7, Nepal took their time to reach the target. Indu Barma and Rubina Chhetry scored 30 runs and 23 runs respectively, leading their team to a win with four balls remaining.
They proved their ability by easily winning the last match against the UAE. Nattakan’s shots of 46 and Nattaya’s slow score of 49 helped Thailand secure a target of 144/5 at the end. The UAE put up a modest score of 90/5.

This is how qualifying stands right now:
- Bangladesh, Scotland and the United States are joining Thailand and Nepal as part of the Global Qualifier.
- There will be two more qualifying teams from Europe and Africa.
- The East Asia-Pacific bracket will reserve the last slot on the team.
