Punjab Congress Leaders Kulbir Singh Zira, Sukhpal Khera Taken By Police
Two Congress leaders have been arrested in Punjab, former MLA Kulbir Singh Zira and sitting MLA Sukhpal Singh Khera. Starting with Zira, he was arrested at his home in Zira, Punjab. It’s still unclear why he’s been arrested, but he had a recent case against him.
The Block Development Office (BDO) in Jira had filed a complaint. They said Zira and 70-80 Congress supporters stormed into their office. They stopped the staff from doing their work and even damaged some official papers. The BDO wanted Zira arrested for this. As of now, Zira is in Ferozepur jail until October 30.
Now, let’s talk about Khera. He got arrested in a drug smuggling case from 2015. He was taken from his home in Chandigarh. He defended himself as innocent, and the Supreme Court had even thrown out summons against him before. Despite that, he’s now in jail for 14 days. Khera has also made some strong accusations against the Aam Aadmi Party government in Punjab. He thinks this is all revenge politics.
These 70-80 leaders and supporters joined Zira when he entered the BDO office in Jira. They’re accused of messing up the office, stopping work, and damaging papers. The BDO claims that Zira and his supporters misbehaved with officials and stopped them from doing their jobs. They even demanded Zira’s arrest after the event.
Remember, these are all allegations, and they are still under investigation. But here’s a thought. Political leaders should be helping in the growth and development of the area. They shouldn’t be causing trouble or acting like goons showing rowdism. Obstructing work only slows down progress that can benefit the public.
