PTI Fears for Imran Khan’s Safety in Jail Following Indo-Pak Crisis

The Pakistani Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has voiced serious concerns regarding the safety of the former Prime Minister Imran Khan, who is languishing in Adiala jail while the Indo Pakistan tension is showing signs of spilling over. Party officials have hurriedly sought an urgent petition in the Islamabad High Court to have Khan released immediately on both health conditions and security risks in the current conflict environment.
A PTI intelligence aide hired by the party to be vital to economic policy said mounting military exchanges, especially Indian strikes with drones penetrating far inside the tree line into Pakistani territory including Rawalpindi are fuelling fears for Khan’s safety. The aide however articulated the fears that Adiala Jail could be such a target.

Pakistan’s Defence Minister has signaled indirectly the possibility of drone strikes around the prison facility—an alarming threat to Khan’s life, in our interpretation, the aide said.
According to PTI, holding Khan prisoner, citing what they call as “illegitimate charges”, is unfacile in the light of the prevailing regional security situation. His family is said to be calling for parole debriefs before things settle. The continued military confrontation comes after Operation Sindoor was begun in retaliation for the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack, striking suspected terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. Security experts point out that any injury to the former cricket player and politician would only add to an already unstable area.
