MMMUT 2025 Cutoff: Know Details!

The much-anticipated first list of cutoff marks by Madan Mohan Malaviya University of Technology (MMMUT) Gorakhpur for the B.Tech course of 2025-26 has been released, showing that Computer Science Engineering has surpassed other courses to become the most student-favorite. The university received an overwhelming number of 4,039 applicants to compete for a total of 1,089 seats on offer in eight branches of engineering.
The statistics of admission give an impression of stiff competition in the MMMUT Gorakhpur. Among the overall number of applicants, around 3, 700 Uttar Pradesh, and 339 were students belonging to other states. MMMUT 2025 Cutoff Trends
Computer Science Engineering became a clear winner, receiving the most applications from both types of students. The CSE cut-off rank opened at 18,091 and closed at 62,179 at the Uttar Pradesh level, whereas the students in the other states required ranks between 40,229 and 66,331 to get admission.
The second most demanded academic was Information Technology, and the ranks needed by the UP students were 62,574-72,492. Electronics and Communication Engineering continued its high demand, as having opening ranks of 35,553 and 65,896 for the home state applicants and other state applicants, respectively.

MMMUT 2025 Cutoff Analysis
There was a different competition in the engineering branches in the MMMUT 2025 cut-off list. EE had a cutoff of 58,540-97,588 UP students, and ME had cutoffs of 76,387-108,446. The closing ranks were highest in Civil Engineering and Chemical Engineering, which means that there is a comparatively high chance of getting admitted to the corresponding courses.
The newer specialization involved Internet of Things, which had a moderate interest with home state cutoff ranging between 73,543 to 84,249. The subject-wise seat allotment gives CSE 255 seats when ECE has 180 seats, whereas each of EE, Civil, and IT has 120 seats.
Seat Allocation Pattern
Preference-based data on seat allocation in the MMMUT 2025 cutoff has some interesting things to tell about student preferences. The truth is that 285 students got their desired branch, 225 had to make do with the second choice. The distribution reveals declining figures in the order of preferences, with only 25 students having accepted their 8th preference.
The third and the fourth preferences had 149 and 95 admissions, respectively, and the fifth and the sixth choices had 109 and 148 admissions, respectively. This trend shows that the majority of the students were not very rigid in their choice of branch, but took a one-year drop.
Document Verification and Next Steps
After the MMMUT 2025 cutoff, the shortlisted candidates shall have to submit the documents by July 2, 2025. To guarantee a smooth admission to the university, the university has simplified this process for all the successful candidates.
The students who are not selected during the first round of the cutoff are expected to have further lists on the basis of seat availability and merit. The university normally issues multiple cutoff lists in order to occupy all the seats it has under various engineering sections.
