Leading Telecom Operators Jio, Vi and Airtel launches new prepaid plans

Reliance Jio, Vodafone-Idea (Vi) and Airtel are the predominant telecom operators in India who have launched their new prepaid plans focusing on calls and SMS following the directive of TRAI (Telecom Regulatory Authority of India). The aim of launching this new scheme is to provide the telecom services abundantly for the users who do not require the bundled packs with unnecessary data benefits. The following are the SMS-only plans of various telecom companies.
Reliance Jio
- 336 days – Rs.1,748 (3,600 SMS)
Per day cost – Rs.5.20
- 84 days – Rs.448 (1,000 SMS)
Per day cost – Rs.5
Access to Jio Cinema & Jio TV
Vi – Vodafone Idea
- 270 days – Rs.1,460 (unlimited voice calls and 100 SMS)
The cost of the SMS which goes beyond the daily limit is charged as Rs.1 for local and Rs.1.5 for STD. Per day cost – Rs.5.41
Airtel
- 365 days – Rs.1,849 (3600 SMS)
Per day cost – Rs.5.06
- 84 days – Rs.469 (900 SMS)
Per day cost – Rs.5.58

The plans of Jio are rebranded from “Value Plans” to “Voice-Only Plans” and the users who utilise these plans cannot recharge with Rs.139 or Rs.69 data boosters.
