Municipal Election Vote Counting Kicks Off in Dehradun

The Municipal Election in Uttarakhand was held on January 23, 2025 for over 100 municipal bodies, 11 municipal corporations. As per the given information by EC Secretary Rahul Kumar Goyal, the percentage of voting is estimated as 56.81 percent till 4pm which is 4.38% lower than the previous elections.
The counting of the votes for this Municipal Election began on January 25, 2025 early today and the reports state that BJP has taken the lead against Congress. Meanwhile, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has requested the voters to make their party BJP to win and to form a triple-engine government.
“We have fulfilled all the promises and are taking forward our vision. We are working continuously to make Uttarkhand the best state in India, under the leadership of PM Modi” he added.

Ward no.3 – Suryakant Sharma (BJP)

Ward no.6 – Sumit Chaudhary (BJP)
Ward no.7 – Shruti Khevdiya (BJP)
Ward no.8 – Himanshu Gupta (BJP)
Ward no.9 – Sohit Sethi (BJP)
These are the officially declared winners of the eight wards and in some of the wards the counting is still underway.
