India Mobile Congress Launches 100 5G Labs, Plans To Lead The World On 6G
The 7th Edition of the India Mobile Congress took place in New Delhi. This big event is like a meeting ground for all the big names in telecom, tech, and media. The theme this year is ‘Global Digital Innovation,’ and it aims to make connections between startups, investors, and established companies. Prime Minister Narendra Modi was there too. He talked about how fast the 5G internet has spread in India in just one year. In fact, our country had the fastest 5G rollout in the world. PM Modi is also planning to give awards to 100 ‘5G Use Case Labs’ in schools and colleges. These labs will help in creating new uses for 5G technology that suits our country’s needs and could also be useful to the world. Reliance Jio has launched JioSpaceFiber, which is India’s first satellite-based super-fast internet service. This will help people even in remote areas to get high-speed internet. They have already started this service in four places: Gir in Gujarat, Korba in Chattisgarh, Nabrangpur in Odisha, and ONGC-Jorhat in Assam. The aim is to make sure everyone in India, no matter where they are, can use high-speed internet. Sunil Mittal of Bharti Enterprises also had some interesting things to say. He praised the Digital India initiative and talked about how India’s digital setup can help speed up the world economy. Airtel is planning to provide nationwide 5G coverage by March 2024. He also mentioned how satellites can help bring the internet to every part of India.
