Exit poll predicts sweep for BJP in UP while AAP may come out as a powerhouse in Punjab
Results for the recently concluded Assembly Elections 2022 have been predicted and as per that, Uttar Pradesh will once again witness Bharatiya Janata Party to take charge while in Punjab, Aam Aadmi Party may take over.
Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Uttarakhand, Manipur, and Goa went through the polling process between February 10 and March 7 and as the votes are still being counted, the Exit poll has predicted results as per analysis and calculations.
The UP polls were distributed in seven phases for a 403-member assembly while Manipur was divided in two phases. Punjab’s 117-member assembly, Uttarakhand’s 70-member assembly, and Goa with a 40 member assembly held polling in a single phase.
The Indian National Congress is looking to bounce back in Punjab but among these five states, four have BJP as their incumbent government. Among these, UP is a crucial state in a political context and as per the Axis My India Exit Poll, BJP is all set to win with a comfortable majority.
India Today’s poll predicts that the Saffron party will win somewhere 288-326 seats in the 403-seat Assembly.
In Manipur and Goa too, BJP is the one leading. In Goa, however, there does not seem much difference between Congress and the national ruling party in all the exit polls predictions. Pramod Sawant, project CM candidate from Goa, showed confidence in BJP’s win saying, “My party will give me preference for CM seat.” Punjab is the state where most of the exit shows AAP to win a majority and if not majority, the party surely seems to be leading in terms of seats by one or two seats. But Chanakya exit poll has predicted 100 seats for AAP in Punjab while Congress lags behind with mere 10 seats.
