Christopher Nolan’s ‘Interstellar’ Will Be Re-released Again in India for a Week
Just after an amazing rerelease in the previous month, Christopher Nolan‘s science fiction epic is again flying back to Indian theaters. Still, this time, the viewers would get to watch it for only seven days. From March 14, the movie would be in IMAX theaters all over India for a limited one-week run.
Interstellar Returns
“Back on public demand! Rediscover the masterpiece that captivated millions! Christopher Nolan’s Interstellar returns to cinemas in India on March 14. Also in IMAX. Limited run – 7 days only.”
This re-release is coming just a month later, which saw the great Indian audiences flocking to the packed theatres even during late-night and early-morning slot screenings for the film, having returned to theatres again in celebration of its 10th anniversary.
Cinematic Masterpiece
What all this culminated to was a release on 5 November 2014 as perhaps the highest-grossing movie, grossing pretty much $730 million outside of America. Not to forget that it was nominated for five Academy Awards and won the Best Visual Effects Oscar.
The movie features a group of astronauts leaving for the beyond: a journey with the ambition to search for new planets and explore if humanity will have a future beyond Earth. Cooper is played by Academy Award-winner Matthew McConaughey, a former pilot now farmer, with whom he must leave his family behind to lead this highly ambitious expedition into space.
The team also includes some of the best actors, such as Jessica Chastain, Anne Hathaway, Matt Damon, John Lithgow, Michael Caine, Timothée Chalamet, Ellen Burstyn, Bill Irwin, Wes Bentley, David Oyelowo, and Casey Affleck.
Re-release World Over for Its 10th Anniversary
Interstellar was successfully re-released across the US in December 2024, and with that, it now sits as the ninth highest-grossing IMAX film of all time, raking in a whopping $4.5 million across 166 screens in the US and Canada.
