Apple halts production of iPhone 12 Mini due to poor sale reports
Apple’s attempt to resuscitate the small mobile market with the iPhone 12 Mini has not been fulfilled with overwhelming customer demands as lately there have been reports about the poor sales performance of iPhone 12 Mini’s, however, the tech giant has stopped the production of the device.
As per a new report from a Taiwanese research firm, TrendForce has revealed that the mini iPhone 12 is not under production anymore. The gadget arrived at End-of-Life in the subsequent quarter following frustrating sale performance, the report added.
Apple is relied upon to zero in on driving sales of the three non-mini models in the iPhone 12s series considering the way that the iPhone 12 Mini (which arrived at End-of-Life early in 2Q21) endured bad sale performance compared to other iPhone 12 models.
As per the report, the smaller models didn’t do well in the market as the large screen models did, like the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro, giving Apple no choice except to end its production.
This doesn’t come as a major shock, however, as earlier, the reports had suggested that the Mini just accounted for 5% of absolute iPhone 12 series sales and the company may discontinue producing new models by the second quarter of 2021 if things didn’t improve a lot.
Apple had launched the 12 Mini with iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Pro Max, and iPhone 12 Pro. It tried to target customers that desired small gadget yet didn’t have any desire to settle on the performance or camera quality.
However, the company still has the phone listed on its official website, so that it can be on sale till the stock lasts. Unfortunately, the iPhone 12 Mini didn’t perform well in the market just as Apple hoped.
