Agendas for Quad Summit between Narendra Modi and Joe Biden
The subsequent changes in the social, geopolitical, and economic balance in the Indo-Pacific region in the last year have brought the recent Prime Minister Narendra Modi meeting with the US President Joe Biden. This first in-person meet of the Quad Summit will be reviewing the vaccine initiatives and the spiking global issues of cyber security, connectivity and infrastructure, cyber security, maritime security, humanitarian assistance, climate change, and education.
President Biden will host Modi at the White House for their first bilateral meeting on September 24. It is believed that later during the day, Biden will host the Quad Leaders’ Summit with Modi, Japanese Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga and Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison.
Vice President Harris will also be meeting Prime Minister Modi. This will be the first meeting between the two leaders. Harris had earlier spoken with Modi over the phone in June during the COVID-19 crisis.
During the meeting, the leaders are also going to discuss on the policies and strategies of IT and digital priority that the Indian government is pushing for. Modi is scheduled to meet Vivek Lall on General Atomics and military drone technologies. They are the world’s top manufacturer of state-of-the-art military drones, which the US shares only with its key allies and partners.
