Priyanka Gandhi Illegally Confined In Uttar Pradesh
Uttar Pradesh – The Opposition Party’s strong voice and proponent of the farmers, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra has been under detention in a private guesthouse in Uttar Pradesh since early Monday morning.
She was arrested at 4.50 am in the morning and told this was being done under Section 151. No written FIR has been filed and this is being termed as an ‘illegal detention’. After a video leaked from the Sitapur guesthouse, police even tried to confiscate her phone and her colleagues too.
As 24 hours have passed, it is imperative that she should have been brought before a Magistrate. This has also not been done. While speaking to a prominent Indian media house, she said that the party is looking at its legal options to challenge these illegal moves.
A peaceful protest of farmers in the Lakhimpur Kheri area of UP became bloody as a son of the minister ran over the farmers, eight of them. Ms. Gandhi Vadra has held the fact that the fundamental right to peaceful protest cannot be trampled upon as it is being done by the BJP government. While questioning the PM she asked as to how did he manage to come into UP for a
Aazadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, while the Union Minister Ajay Mishra has not even put in his papers for what his son did.
According to an injured protester, Union Minister Ajay Mishra‘s son Ashish was driving the car that ran over farmers. As soon as she is released, Ms. Gandhi Vadra wants to get to meet with the families of the dead farmers. She was heading to Lakhimpur Kheri for the purpose on Sunday night when she was stopped and arrested in the early hours of Monday.
