PM Modi takes holy dip in Sangam at Maha Kumbh as Delhi goes to polls

Prime Minister Narendra Modi took a ‘holy dip’ in the Sangam in Prayagraj during the Maha Kumbh, on Wednesday morning.
The PM can be seen wearing a bright saffron jacket and blue track pants, with rudraksha’ beads in his hands. As he took several dips in the river waters, PM Modi was seen chanting prayers. Sangam is considered the confluence of three rivers – the Ganga, the Yamuna, and the mythical Saraswati.
Before taking a dip in the holy waters, PM Modi took a boat tour of the Sangam with Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
Taking to social media platform X, PM Modi shared pictures of his visit to Prayagraj. “Blessed to be at the Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj. The Snan at the Sangam is a moment of divine connection, and like the crores of others who have taken part in it, I was also filled with a spirit of devotion,” the caption read. “May Maa Ganga bless all with peace, wisdom, good health and harmony.”
PM Modi visits the Maha Kumbh as the national capital goes to vote for a crucial Assembly election. The PM Modi-led BJP is fighting to stop the incumbent AAP led by Arvind Kejriwal, who is seeking a third successive term.
Ahead of his visit to Maha Kumbh, PM Modi urged Delhi voters to exercise their rights. “I urge the voters here to participate in this festival of democracy with full enthusiasm and cast their valuable vote,” he wrote in Hindi.
He became the second high-profile leader from the BJP to take a ‘holy dip’ this Kumbh. Last month, Home Minister Amit Shah and his family paid their visit to the Maha Kumbh.
So far, the Maha Kumbh, being held after 12 years, has see the visit of over 38 crore pilgrims from across India and the world, according to the Uttar Pradesh government.
