Parakram Diwas: PM Modi Pays Tribute to the Streuneus Freedom Fighter Netaji on his birth anniversary
On his 124th birthday the Indian government observed his birthday as “Parakram Diwas” from the year 2021 and it is followed annually to celebrate the brave heart and his immeasurable contribution to the nation during the fight for the independence of India. Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose was born on January 23, 1897 at Cuttack. On this wonderful occasion, PM Narendra Modi, Vice President Jagdeep Dhankar paid the tribute to the National leader and shared the legacy of Netaji which still stands unique and inspiring crores of Indians.
“Netaji’s valour, nationalistic fervour, and monumental contribution to freeing India from foreign rule continue to inspire countless Indians. He personified selfless devotion to the cause of the motherland” – Vice President Jagdeep.
In the Indian states including West Bengal, Jharkhand, Assam, Tripura, and Odisha the birthday anniversary/Parakram Diwas is observed as an official holiday to commemorate the great and timeless leader.

- 1919 – He went to England to prepare for ICS (Indian Civil Services)
- 1921 – Resigned from ICS and joined the Indian Freedom Movement under Mahatma Gandhi
- 1921 – Joined the Indian National Congress
- 1924 – He became Chief Executive Officer of Calcutta Municipal Corporation
- 1938 – He became the President of INC at the Haripura session
- 1939 – Again he was re-elected as the President of INC at the Tripuri session but due to the contradicts in the ideology with both Gandhi and Nehru he resigned from his position
- 1939 – Founded Forward Bloc Party to oppose the British Forces
- 1940 – Arrested and forced to detain in his house
- 1941 – He escaped and traveled to Germany via Afghanistan and Russia
- 1943 – He then traveled to Japan and took the charge for the INA (Indian National Army)

- 1945 – It was reported that Netaji died in a Plane crash in Taiwan but the speculations and debates regarding his intriguing death.
