The Election Commission of India (ECI) has modified the schedule of the on-going Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Odisha, providing more time to the voters to file their claims, objections, and corrections. According to the modified timetable, the deadline for filing claims and objections has now been postponed to August 19, 2026, from August 4, 2026. During this period, eligible electors may apply for the following purposes:
- Inclusion if the name is not listed.
- Correction of personal information.
- Objection against wrong information.
- Deletion of duplicate or ineligible voters
In this way, electors will have almost two extra weeks for filing these documents.
When will the Final Electoral Roll be Published?
The schedule of publication of the electoral roll has also been revised by the Election Commission.
According to this schedule, the final electoral roll for Odisha will be released on September 21, 2026, contrary to the initially notified date.
This extra time will give enough opportunity to the election authorities to check all objections and claims filed before finalizing the updated list of voters.
