NHAI Launches ₹350 Monthly Pass via Rajmargyatra App: Steps to Apply Online

Now, regular commuters residing near the toll plazas of National Highway can get a local toll pass for the month more easily. The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has developed an online facility through its app called ‘Rajmargyatra’ for application by eligible vehicle owners without having to visit the toll plazas in person.
The cost of the monthly local toll pass is approximately ₹340 to ₹350 and is dependent on the toll plaza. The local pass enables eligible customers to take unlimited trips through the toll plaza in a month. This facility has been made available initially in Mundka-Bakkarwala toll plaza of Urban Extension Road-II in Delhi.
What Is the NHAI ₹350 Monthly Pass?
NHAI’s local pass scheme is specifically meant for those individuals who are crossing a particular toll gate every day and who also belong to the local area prescribed by NHAI. They are not required to pay the toll fee at every visit to the toll plaza but they have an option to purchase a monthly pass for the particular toll plaza.
Such passes are especially helpful for those individuals who are frequently commuting for their work, business, study, or any other activity. One must note that the scheme is of local monthly pass type, which means that it is not the same as NHAI’s FASTag annual pass scheme.
Who Is Eligible for the Monthly Pass?
The digital local-pass facility is specifically designed for those users of vehicles living up to 20 kilometres from an eligible toll plaza. The system of NHAI makes use of digital verification to ascertain if the user and vehicle are local enough to be eligible.
It simply means that possession of a FASTag or any vehicle does not automatically make anyone eligible for the local pass worth Rs 350. The address and the vehicle should fulfill the requirements of the toll plaza locally.
How Does Rajmargyatra Verify Your Eligibility?
One of the major benefits of the new system is that there will be no need for the applicants to provide documents in a physical form at the toll plaza.
In the new system, there will be a retrieval of verified information from government-related websites and applications. According to NHAI, the system can be integrated with DigiLocker and Vahan in order to get information on the address and vehicle details of the applicant. GIS-based verification will be done in order to ascertain if the applicant is within the prescribed 20 kilometres radius.
Steps to Apply for the ₹350 Monthly Pass Online
To start with, the commuters will have to download and install Rajmargyatra, which is the authorized NHAI app for highways services. As per the details provided by the NHAI, the Rajmargyatra app is considered to be the application of the citizens of India for highway users by NHAI.
Next, when the local-pass facility becomes available for your toll plaza, you will have to fill in the required information regarding vehicle and yourself. The system may check the information from the authorized database without making the commuter submit all the documents.
The applicant may have to provide Aadhar information and go through the OTP verification process. As per the reported information about the process, the system verifies the applicant’s address and the vehicle details before checking the eligibility of the commuter.
In case the information is found to be eligible, then the monthly local pass will be issued digitally. Even the renewal of the pass is possible through the application itself.
Why the New Digital Process Matters
In the past, those who qualified to get a local pass would have to go to the toll plaza to submit their credentials to prove that they qualified. This new digital process is supposed to eliminate such an ordeal.
For individuals who use the same toll plaza almost every single day, doing away with having to go back to the toll plaza all the time can mean a lot.

Where Is the ₹350 Pass Available?
The digital local-pass facility has been introduced in the toll plaza at Mundka–Bakkarwala on the UER-II road in Delhi. As per NHAI, the facility shall be extended to other toll plazas, and in the future, the rollout will take place in other locations in the country as well.
So, in order to find out whether your toll plaza supports digital local-pass facility, you should refer to Rajmargyatra.
₹350 Local Monthly Pass Vs FASTag Annual Pass
It is very essential not to get confused between the local monthly pass facility and the FASTag Annual Pass.
The local monthly pass is for commuters who live in the specified radius of the toll plaza and it gives unlimited access to that toll plaza for a month. The cost of such a pass is around ₹340-₹350.
The FASTag Annual Pass is an NHAI facility that is meant for non-commercial vehicles. In 2026-27, NHAI increased the annual pass fee to ₹3,075, which gives validity of one year or 200 toll-plaza crossings, whichever comes first, in eligible National Highway/National Expressway toll plazas.
What If Your Application Is Rejected?
In case the system fails to confirm any of the above details, the local pass may not get automatically issued to you.
However, the commuter should first see if all the relevant details are matching. Mismatch in any of the above details will have an impact on the digital verification process.
However, the offline method of submitting an application is still there at the toll plaza, as per NHAI related reports.
Why Rajmargyatra Is Becoming Important for Highway Users
Monthly-pass facilities represent just one example of how highway facilities are being transformed into a digital space. Rajmargyatra offers many services for highway travelers such as route information, information on tolls, information on highways, and even complaints registration. It is important to note that NHAI’s website also mentions Rajmargyatra as one of its digital services.
Digital local pass facilities will make this app more convenient for highway travelers.
Conclusion
NHAI ₹350/monthly pass would be a great benefit for those regular commuters who reside within 20 kilometers of an eligible toll plaza. There would no need to go to the toll plaza each time to verify their eligibility as most of the process has now been done through Rajmargyatra.
Firstly, one needs to find out if his/her toll plaza falls under the list of NHAI eligible toll plazas for monthly local passes, and then he/she will have to link his/her vehicle and residential address details. As NHAI will continue adding such facilities in more toll plazas, the monthly local pass can be a great help for commuters.
In case if you cross an NHAI toll plaza frequently and reside within 20 kilometers of that plaza, the ₹350/monthly local pass would surely make your life easy. Just check it on Rajmargyatra first.
