According to the ANI news reports, on Wednesday, the US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo praised India and called India a rising US security and defense partner in the Indo-Pacific and globally in his address to the yearly ‘India Ideas Summit’ of the US India Business Council (USIBC).

He highlighted that India has the opportunity to attract worldwide supply chains away from China and decrease its dependence on Chinese companies in sectors like medical supply, telecommunications, and others.

Pompeo praised India saying it has earned the trust of many countries around the globe including the United States. The US and India are working together for the Blue Dot Network. It aims at boosting quality infrastructure investment that is inclusive and open, transparent, financially sustainable, and acquiescent with global standards, he included.

In his online keynote address, Pompeo included, India is one of the few like-minded nations, a significant partner, and a key pillar of the US foreign policy. Our interactions are not only on a bilateral basis but simply as great democracies and good friends.

PM Narendra Modi is invited by United Stated to the following G7 Summit, which will be facilitated by President Trump. Pompeo reinstated that he is sure that the relationship between the two nations is growing stronger. We must rise up from this prevailing challenge more innovative and resilient than earlier. Also, let’s embrace this moment to strengthen cooperation between two of the world’s most prominent democracies, he concluded.
