Bhandari, who is an IAS 2001-batch officer of the AGMUT cadre, as the new chairman of CBSE. Prior to his nomination to become chairman of the CBSE, Bhandari was holding the post of Principal Secretary to the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu & Kashmir as well as being CEO of the Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board.
