Li Shi Feng Defeats Lakshya Sen in All England Quarterfinals

Indian shuttler Lakshya Sen was eliminated in the quarterfinals of the All England Badminton tournament on Friday in Birmingham. He lost to former champion and world number 6 Li Shi Feng of China. Li Shi Feng won the match in 44 minutes, taking both sets 21-10 and 21-16.
Sen is currently securing the world number 15. He had won his last two meetings with Li Shi Feng, including a recent win at the Thomas Cup. On Friday, Sen struggled against the skilled Chinese player. Li Shi Feng played strongly and did not allow Sen to gain any momentum. This defeat brings an end to Sen’s run at the tournament.
Li Shi Feng now moves on to the semifinals. He will face either top seed Shi Yu Qi or Loh Kean Yew next. Meanwhile, India’s women’s doubles pair, Treesa Jolly and Gayatri Gopichand, reached the quarterfinals for the third time in four years, showing great promise in the competition.
Lakshya Sen is disappointed by the loss but he still remains one of India’s top badminton players.
