Kolkata’s Howrah Bridge lit up with Olympic colors ahead of Tokyo Olympic
The Indian contingent for the Olympics has already left for Tokyo and to boost their spirits and confidence, one of the best tourist attractions of India, Howrah bridge has lit up with the Olympic colors.
The Olympic fever is quickly catching up in India with people waiting to watch their favorite athletes compete in one of the biggest sporting events from July 23. There are 127 athletes competing for the country’s honor in Tokyo and this is a big chance for the Indian squad to regain its image on the Olympic forum.
Few of the biggest names in the squad are Mary Kom, Indian hockey men’s team captain Manpreet Singh, PV Sindhu, Sania Mirza, who will be competing for the fourth time in Olympics, Ankita Raina, Saurabh Chaudhary, Manu Bhaker, Deepika Kumari, Bajrang Punia and Vinesh Phogat.
The video was shared by the Ministry of Ports, Shipping, and Waterways as it gave best wishes to the Indian athletes. Kolkata as a city is known for its sports-loving nature and the people of the city are greatly passion-driven when it comes to sports.
On July 19, it was the perfect day to celebrate the passion among every Indian and the residents of the city by spreading the Olympic colors all over the bridge.
