“Badminton is in her genes,” says PV Sindhu on being asked about Deepika’s game
Mumbai – It has been two months since PV Sindhu returned from Tokyo winning her second medal at the Olympics and the badminton player is shining everywhere.
Even with the other star like her only the one belonging from the Indian film industry, Deepika Padukone, the player is having a gala time celebrating the win and her journey. Recently the Olympic bronze medalist talked about their bond and how good Padukone truly is in Badminton.
PV Sindhu met Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh for dinner last month. The two seemed to share a great rapport with each other as before the dinner date the duo also hung out in the badminton court. Padukone shared a video on her Instagram and jokingly said that Sindhu feels she is the best partner to practice for the world championship.
Sindhu on being asked how well does Deepika plays and what is her behind the scene mood, said, “She is a very sweet girl, really nice, and beautiful, obviously. And she plays really well. I didn’t expect that when we played together the first time! Of course, it’s in her genes…her father was a legend.” Sindhu was all praise for Deepika even in the video the actor shared on social media. The shuttler can be found saying that if Padukone would have continued playing badminton, she would have become a top player by now.
The 26-year-old shared her relationship with Deepika as she shot for the cover picture of a magazine.
Sindhu became a household name the last when she won a silver at the Olympics, becoming the first badminton player from India to do so and this time, with the bronze medal, she once again created history by becoming the first woman to bring a medal in two consecutive Olympics. As for Deepika Padukone, she will be seen alongside her husband Ranveer Singh in ‘83’, a film based on Team India’s victory at the 1983 cricket World Cup. Singh will portray the then captain Kapid Dev while Padukone will be essaying the role of his wife, Romi.
