Jyotiraditya Scindia Inaugurates Multiple Flights In North-East Region
The Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia inaugurated multiple flights for different routes in the North-East region for better air connectivity.
On Tuesday, several flights operated by Indigo and Alliance Air were inaugurated in order to improve connection to the northeastern region.
The new route will improve connectivity between the northeast region and the two major metro areas.
The minister promised in his inauguration speech that advanced landing sites in isolated parts of tier 2 and tier 3 cities will also be connected, in addition to the big cities.
The IndiGo flight from Itanagar to Mumbai, via Kolkata, began on November 28. Alliance Air began its twice-weekly service between Dibrugarh and Itanagar-Ziro on November 29.
Alliance Air will begin operating the twice-weekly flights between Dibrugarh and Itanagar-Pasighat today.
Scindia praised the government of Arunachal Pradesh for lowering the VAT on aviation turbine fuel and attributed the swift rise in air connectivity to the action.
He claimed that past administrations had been hopeful, but nothing had been put into action.
“The Modi administration has given the Northeastern states unparalleled priority over the past eight years.
The prime minister has a goal of bringing air travel to every part of the nation, and we are working with each state to make that goal a reality “Minister for the Union stated.
He also guaranteed that connections between Vijay Nagar, Mechuka, and Tuting are being built and will happen shortly.
The event was attended by the Lok Sabha MP Tapir Gao, the Arunachal Pradesh deputy chief minister Chowna Mein, the MoS for Civil Aviation, Tourism, and Transport of Arunachal Pradesh, Nakap Nalo, and the Union Minister of Law and Justice, Kiren Rijiju.
On Monday, Scindia signaled the beginning of IndiGo’s flight operations from New Delhi, connecting Itanagar to Mumbai via Kolkata.
Scindia stated, “Today is the historic day when we are inaugurating airline services from two metro cities to Itanagar. Prime Minister Narendra Modi officially launched Donyi Polo Airport in Arunachal Pradesh.”
