US Vice President JD Vance Begins First Official India Visit, Meets PM Modi Today

US Vice President JD Vance has arrived in New Delhi for his first official visit to India. He is in India with his wife, Usha Vance, and their children. This visit is a symbol of growing ties between India and the US.
The Vance family landed at Delhi’s Palam Airport this morning. India was greeted warmly with traditional Indian dance performances and a ceremonial Guard of Honour. Union IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw welcomed them on behalf of the Indian government.
As part of their cultural experience, the Vances visited to Akshardham Temple. Vances visited the Central Cottage Industries Emporium, highlighting his interest in Indian craftsmanship and heritage.
JD Vance will hold crucial talks with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, with top issues on the table including a long-awaited bilateral trade agreement and the future of reciprocal US tariffs on Indian goods. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has confirmed that both nations are actively working on a “best possible trade deal.”
