Indian Boxers Shine At IBA Junior World Boxing Championships
India’s young boxers have showcased their talent and hard work on an international stage at the IBA Junior World Boxing Championships.
This championship is a global boxing tournament where young (junior) boxers from various countries compete. It’s a platform for emerging talents in boxing to display their skills and gain valuable experience against international opponents.
The Indian champs and young talents including – Hardik Panwar, Amisha Keretta, and Prachi Tokas have represented India in this international event and have made us all very proud. This reminds us of the female Indian boxers who won 4 gold medals at the IBA Women’s World Boxing Championship in March this year.
Hardik Panwar, competing in the 80kg category, is known for his skill and determination. He put up a tough fight in his match but faced a narrow 2-3 defeat against Ashurov Bairamkhan of Russia. Despite the loss, his performance was commendable, and he kept everyone on the edge of their seats with his aggressive style.
Then, we have Amisha Keretta in the 54kg category. Amisha faced Ayazhan Sydyk of Kazakhstan in her final bout. She fought bravely but lost 0-5.
Similarly, Prachi Tokas, competing in the plus 80kg category, also faced a tough challenge. She went up against Sobirakhon Shakhobiddinova from Uzbekistan, who is a two-time Asian junior champion. Prachi gave her best but ultimately lost 0-5.
All three of these talented boxers – Hardik, Amisha, and Prachi – won silver medals at the Championships. This is a significant achievement, showcasing their dedication and the high level of boxing skills in India.
As for India’s overall performance in the tournament, it has been quite remarkable. So far, India has secured a total of 17 medals. This includes the silver medals won by Hardik, Amisha, and Prachi, along with five bronze medals.
The tournament isn’t over yet, as we have nine more Indian boxers who will be competing for gold medals. These boxers are Payal, Nisha, Vini, Shrushti, Akansha, Megha, Jatin, Sahil, and Hemant, each ready to give their best in their respective categories.
This strong performance by our Indian boxers at the IBA Junior World Boxing Championships is a testament to the growing talent and dedication in the sport of boxing in our country.
It’s an inspiring moment for all sports enthusiasts and a proud moment for India. Let’s cheer for our boxers as they continue to make us proud on the international stage. Stay tuned for more updates from the world of sports!
