Indian Athletes Sparkle With 20 Medals At Asian Games 2023
India has performed exceptionally well in the ongoing Asian Games in Hangzhou, China. On the fourth day, India has won a total of 6 medals so far, including two gold, one silver, and three bronze medals.
In the first three days of the Games, India secured 14 medals, comprising 3 gold, 4 silver, and 7 bronze medals. This has taken India’s medal tally to 20.
The shooting team has been outstanding, earning 5 medals on the fourth day alone. Today, on September 27th, the spotlight will be on several athletes who are potential medal contenders.
2 Gold Medal In Shooting
India has secured another gold medal in shooting. Sifat Kaur Samra won the gold in the women’s 50m rifle 3 positions event. Prior to this, Sifat had also won a gold medal in the team event. In the same event, Ashi Chaukse claimed a silver medal.
The incredible trio of Manu Bhaker, Esha Singh, and Ridham Sangeet secured the gold in the women’s 25m pistol team event.
Indian shooters accumulated 1759 points in this competition, while the Chinese team finished second with 1756 points, earning them the silver.
Bronze Medal In Shooting
Indian shooters have been making waves at the Asian Games. Another medal has been added to India’s tally in shooting.
The Indian team secured a bronze medal in the shooting skeet event. The trio of Angad Bajwa, Gurjot Khangura, and Anantjeet Singh clinched the bronze for the country.
Bronze In Sailing
Vishnu Saravanan has also brought glory to the country in sailing. He won a bronze medal in the men’s ILCA 7 event.
Women’s Hockey Team In Action
India’s women’s hockey team has taken to the field at the Asian Games 2023. They are facing Singapore in their opening match. After the second quarter, India had a score of 8-0.
The men’s hockey team had also achieved a significant victory against Singapore. Now, the women’s team is looking to replicate that success.
Although India’s ranking at the Asian level is currently 5th or 6th, we need to improve it more. But we also know that just a few decades ago, we were longing for even a single medal. But now, with each tournament, the number of our medals is increasing.
