MeitY, through MeitY Startup Hub (MSH), has announced the launching of the third cohort of its GENESIS Entrepreneur-in-Residence (EIR) initiative. It aims to help innovative technology startups realize their potential and create successful ventures.
The GENESIS EIR 3.0 was unveiled at the GENESIS NextGen Startup Summit – Coimbatore Edition which was held on August 4, 2026, at Rathinam Global University. This program is especially meant for innovators, students, researchers, entrepreneurs, and startups which are founded on technology-driven innovation.

What Is MSH GENESIS EIR 3.0?

This includes Electronic & IT, Deep Tech, artificial intelligence & machine learning, Internet of Things, semiconductor & VLSI technologies, cybersecurity, blockchain, quantum technologies, and AR/VR, Spatial Technologies.
This is a program for early-stage innovations only. Your technology should be at the level of TRL 1–4.
What Startup Location and Age Rules Apply?
There are some conditions that are unique for incorporation. First, the startup should have its base in a Tier-II or Tier-III city, and the startup should be less than two years old as of the date of application.
Second, there is a condition related to the previous government funding. Neither the startup nor the proposed idea should have received financial assistance above ₹10 lakh from any Central or State Government schemes for the same proposed idea/startup.
