First Dubai-Abu Dhabi Passenger Train Test Run Begins on Etihad Rail

The United Arab Emirates is moving forward to achieve a national passenger rail network with the upcoming inauguration of its Dubai-Abu Dhabi passenger rail link by Etihad Rail. This new passenger rail is already being used in operation and trial runs before it gets inaugurated for its official use at the Dubai station.

First, the train between Abu Dhabi and Fujairah started to run since June 30, 2026. This was the first ever train that travelled in 1 hour and 45 minutes.

According to the schedule, the stations in Dubai and Al Dhaid are set to launch in September. In addition, other stations will start operating gradually. This way, the network will expand and include 11 cities and regions of the UAE.
