Dhananjay Munde Resigns as Food and Civil Supplies Minister Amid Beed Murder Investigation
Food and Civil Supplies Minister of Maharashtra Dhananjay Munde has resigned after the arrest of his close aide Walmik Karad. This arrest has happened in connection with the murder of Sarpanch Santosh Deshmukh in Beed district last December.
Mr. Munde announced his resignation on social media platform. He posted on his official X account that he had always demanded the strictest punishment for the accused in the case.
Disturbed by recent developments, he said he listened to his “inner self” before stepping down. He also cited health issues as a reason for his decision, mentioning that doctors have advised him to undergo treatment soon.
His resignation came on the instructions of Maharashtra Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis, as investigations into the chilling murder continue.
