“The central government has provided enough security personnel and enough funds to help the displaced families and enough funds to construct new houses for the displaced persons” he added.

Manipur Violence and Its Traumatic Impact
The acute violence broke out in the Northeastern state of India in May 2023 between Meitei & Kuki communities and it lasted for about two months. The major reason which ignited the conflicts between them were the rally of Meitei Community’s demand for ST (Scheduled Tribes) status, land rights, affirmative action, identity politics and socio-political marginalization. The inhuman attacks over the innocent people had infuriated the rage of the whole nation. Many social reformers and NGOs, opposition parties raised their voice against crimes and violence against the particular community.
The violence left behind a deep impact on the victims both internally and externally. PTSD, anxiety, depression, displacement, loss of lives, hatred, distrust and resentment are still whirling among the people. It is believed that it could take years to wipe off all these trauma away from them.
