BSNL Launches ‘Freedom 2.0’: ₹1 SIM Offer With Unlimited Calling & 24-Day Validity
BSNL has revived its famous ₹1 mobile plan, called Freedom 2.0, offering new customers a taste of the company’s services for a symbolic amount. The promotional plan has been launched amidst India’s 80th Independence Day celebrations and will be available from August 12 to September 12, 2026, as per reports.
Freedom 2.0 plan is meant for new BSNL users and consists of a new SIM card with unlimited voice, mobile data, and SMS offers. As compared to the old version of BSNL’s ₹1 Freedom plan, the current Freedom 2.0 plan has a reduced validity period and limited daily data usage.
What Is BSNL Freedom 2.0?
BSNL Freedom 2.0 is a promotional plan known as the First Recharge Coupon (FRC), which aims at attracting new mobile customers to this state-owned telecom operator. The plan requires a payment of only ₹1 and gives subscribers 24 days validity.
In these 24 days of validity, subscribers get 1GB daily data, unlimited voice, and 100 SMS daily. In sum, subscribers will receive 24GB data and up to 2,400 SMS in these 24 days.

The main allure of course is the price. With just ₹1, a new customer gets a SIM card from BSNL with all the added advantages that come with Freedom 2.0.
Unlimited calling within the country, 1 GB data daily and 100 SMS daily for 24 days is what this plan gives you. There have been reports that this deal can only be availed by new customers who open up a new BSNL connection and not for the existing customers who use the ₹1 FRC on their existing number.
This proves that Freedom 2.0 is more of an introductory plan than a recharge plan.
How Is Freedom 2.0 Different From the Earlier ₹1 Plan?
