Bose Relaunches Wired USB-C ANC Earbuds: Price, Features & Availability in India

Bose is reintroducing wired earbuds, but there’s a twist; they have added some modern features to the classic device. The Noise Cancelling Wired Earbuds by Bose feature a wired USB-C interface, along with active noise cancellation and Bose’s QuietControl technology.
With this new product launch, Bose has returned to the market of wired earbuds after a hiatus of 11 years. However, rather than introducing a new classic version like the 3.5mm wired earbuds, Bose has introduced a USB-C version because many smartphones, laptops, and tablets don’t have headphone jacks anymore.
Why Bose Is Bringing Wired Earbuds Back
Nowadays, wireless earbuds have become the norm among most smartphone users, although wired devices are experiencing a renaissance. Bose claims that these earbuds are made for consumers that prefer the convenience of connecting to the phone, yet do not want to sacrifice such advanced capabilities as noise cancellation and good sound quality.
The major distinction is that unlike traditional earbuds, they do not use Bluetooth technology nor come with a built-in rechargeable battery; they get their energy supply directly from the device connected via USB-C cable.
Bose Wired Earbuds Price
The Bose Noise Cancelling Wired Earbuds cost $99 in the US market, which translates to about ₹9,500 without factoring in Indian taxes and duties.
The Bose has allowed pre-orders in the US, and regular shipping is expected to start from October. The colors available are Black, White Smoke, and Dewdrop Mint.
As per the latest update, Bose has not released the Indian pricing and launch date for the earbuds. The Bose India online store currently does not have any details on the new Bose earbud, so the above-mentioned Indian price of ₹9,500 can not be considered as the final Indian retail price.
USB-C Instead of the Old 3.5mm Jack
The most intriguing aspect of the design change is the connector.
While other manufacturers are trying to revive the classic 3.5mm jack, Bose has equipped their earbuds with a USB-C connector. This enables them to connect directly to devices with USB-C connectivity such as smartphones, tablets, and computers.
The digital connection also makes it possible for Bose to include its digital signal processing in the earbuds. The company claims that this system allows for lossless audio using the USB Audio Class 2 and has playback output of 24-bit/48kHz.
This design is far more sensible for the current generation of smartphones without a headphone jack.
Active Noise Cancellation Without a Battery
This is where Bose’s earbuds stand out from the crowd.
Standard wireless earbuds that utilize active noise cancellation technology require a battery to function, providing power to the microphone and noise-canceling system. Bose’s wired earbuds are powered by the device they connect to.
The earbuds feature QuietControl noise cancellation technology, equipped with two microphones in each earbud constantly measuring external sounds. It allows users to toggle between Quiet Mode to reduce noise, Aware Mode to hear the surroundings, and ANC Off Mode for regular wired audio.
So, there is no need for an extra battery to use active noise cancellation.
Three Listening Modes
Controls have been kept fairly basic by Bose.
Quiet mode is intended to cut down external distractions, hence it is appropriate for commuting, plane journeys, office work, or any environment that is otherwise noisy. Aware mode provides more access to the external noise if users have to stay aware of their surroundings.
ANC Off mode gives users access to ordinary wired audio if required.
Users can switch between these modes using physical buttons on the inline remote and not via any app on the phone.
Lossless Audio and Low Latency
The wired connection also gives an edge that Bluetooth earbuds do not always have: extremely low latency.
Since the audio signal is transmitted via the USB-C connection directly, Bose claims that the earbuds are engineered to synchronize the audio with the video precisely, as well as when playing games or working with video content.
Bose also provides support for lossless audio via its SoundDesign digital signal processing technology. According to Bose, the USB Audio Class 2 connection accepts source audio input at any sample and bit rate while playing back audio at 24-bit/48kHz.
This could become one of the most compelling reasons for choosing the new earbuds for those who work with video or play games.
Physical Controls and Call Quality
But Bose has refrained from going overboard with touch controls.
The control remote has physical buttons for adjusting the volume, controlling playback, taking phone calls, and switching between the noise control modes. This may be helpful for those who like to use physical controls and for those who want to use the earbuds during travel or workouts.
This control remote comes with a special microphone for taking phone calls. Bose claims that its position helps in getting a clear voice while minimizing the noise due to the contact of the remote with the clothing.
Fit and Water Resistance
Although being wired, the Bose earbuds still have a design that ensures a better fit.
There are three sizes of ear tips made of silicone rubber and two sizes of stability wings that give a variety of options of earbuds. Bose also provides a carrying zippered pouch.
The earbuds have an IPX4 water resistance rating, which implies their ability to resist moisture, but they are not waterproof.
Whom Do These Earbuds Suit?
These new Bose earbuds are intended for those people who need a wired connection but do not wish to return to ancient audio hardware.
It may make a lot of sense for those people who travel frequently and do not want to deal with battery charge level, gamers who mind latency, content creators who would like to use a direct connection, and those people who want only ANC without a charging case.
Those people may use the earbuds who own modern USB-C smartphones with no 3.5 mm headphone jack.
The Catch: USB-C Only
But what makes them unique in today’s market also becomes the biggest drawback.
With USB-C connectivity, these Bose earbuds will be incompatible with standard 3.5mm headphone jacks. So users owning audio hardware that is old will have to use their device with digital input port or an adapter; compatibility depends on support of USB-C audio by the device.
And then there is the actual physical cable. Wireless earbuds do away with any possibility of getting your cables entangled, but the case is not so with wired earbuds.
When Are Bose Wired ANC Earbuds Available in India?
With a US launch, the company revealed a pre-order facility available in US at a cost of $99 starting from October. An India launch date or an India MRP has not been officially confirmed by Bose in the announcement.
Hence, potential buyers from India will have to wait for Bose or their Indian distribution partners to confirm Indian availability.
Conclusion
Bose Noise Cancelling Wired Earbuds are quite a surprising revival of a product range which was thought to be long gone.
With more than a decade out of the wired earbud market, Bose makes a return with a product that merges a classic plug-and-play functionality with all the fancy bells and whistles usually seen only in high-end wireless headphones. USB-C connection, active noise cancellation, lossless audio, buttons and no built-in battery make this product truly unique when compared to regular wired earphones.
The real question here is if consumers are willing to sacrifice the convenience of wireless earbuds in favor of traditional wired ones.
Bose has revived the wired earbud segment – just not the one that you know. USB-C, ANC, lossless audio, and no charging at all make this launch truly unique in the audio world of 2026.
