Ben Stokes Cricket Milestone: England Captain Joins Elite 7000 Runs Club Against India

England cricket captain Ben Stokes has made a special record in cricket in the 4th Test match against India at Manchester. The 34-year-old all-rounder joined the 7000 Test runs wonderfully; when he hit a splendid six, he was only the third cricketer in the world history to record 7000 runs as well as 200 wickets in Tests.
Such a terrific Ben Stokes cricket achievement puts the captain in the club with two of the best all-rounders in the history of cricket, Garfield Sobers and Jacques Kallis. This run tally is the final part of a double that Stokes had already achieved last year at Lord’s against the West Indies when he had taken his 200th Test wicket.

The 2000s against India were especially sweet to Stokes because it ended a two-year drought without a Test ton to his name. His final century was in the Ashes series in July 2023. He still fought cramps on Day 3 and left the field, but the fighting captain came back into the field and finished his knock to achieve this milestone in Ben Stokes’ cricket career.
The third day has been a cricketing milestone for England. His 150 brought Joe Root to the second position in terms of the all-time run-makers list. Root had 13,409 runs to his credit and now not only topped legends Rahul, Dravid, Jacques, Kallis, and Ricky Ponting. He is single-handedly followed by Sachin Tendulkar (15,921) and no one further.
Both centuries of Stokes and Root, along with good fifties of the openers Ben Duckett and Zak Crawley, have ensured that England held a strong hand in the game. Stokes had also bowled earlier to take five wickets as India scored 358 runs.
