Baghel loyalist in Delhi prompt leadership change in the state
Delhi –Chhattisgarh has been witnessing shaly politics since June this year. Bhupesh Baghel, the current chief minister of the state is being scanned throughout to know if there is leadership on cards especially after over a dozen MLA was found to be visiting the Congress high command.
The last few weeks have been unstable for the state as well as the party, which is finding it tough to adjust to the political climate of the states it is holding. After Punjab, things were not looking good for Chhattisgarh too as the ruling party’s MLA reached Delhi on Wednesday prompting infighting in the party.
However, when asked about the same, the party members did not confirm the news about leadership change rather they stressed that the visit to Delhi was about an upcoming tour that Rahul Gandhi will be on in a few weeks.
As per the statement made by Brihaspati Singh, the party MLA from Ramanujganj seat of state, 15-16 MLA’s have reached Delhi and are staying at different places. “We wanted to convey a request to Rahul ji through our state in-charge P L Punia ji that he should extend a little the duration of his tour so that all the MLAs could benefit from it,” he stressed.

He also added that all the MLAs are in Delhi purely to make this particular request to Gandhi and they will be further talking to Punia regarding this on Thursday. He stressed that their visit should not be seen in any other way.
The leader was further asked about their visit signifying their support to Baghel, he stressed that last time, they had told everything to Punia and the chief minister is working well thanks to the high command and support of the MLAs. Other than that, the MLA also denied any tussle between Baghel and the state health minister TS Singh Deo.
Deo was involved in a power-sharing tussle back in June where he had allegedly asked to give Baghel’s position to him after his 2.5 years stint at top of the ladder. He has alleged that they had previously made a deal that was not stuck as the day to exit from the chair neared. Baghel, however, denied any such claims.
