Ayushman Bharat Registers 5 Crore Accounts, 11 Crore Beneficiaries
The Ayushman Bhava campaign under Ayushman Bharat Yojana has achieved a significant milestone by creating over 5 crore ABHA (Ayushman Bharat Health Accounts) accounts. This campaign is a major part of our country’s healthcare efforts.
Along with these accounts, more than 4.4 crore Ayushman cards have been made. These cards allow families to get free medical treatment up to Rs 5 lakh every year at selected hospitals.
A lot of health events, called health melas, were organized across the country as part of this campaign. Over 11 crore people attended these events.
In the Ayushman Arogya Mandir Melas, which were more than 13 lakh in number, nearly 10 crore people participated. These melas (events) included activities like yoga and meditation.
They also provided free medical services, like over 1 crore teleconsultations, free medicines to about 6.4 crore people, and free diagnostic services to over 5 crore people.
In these melas, many people received Ayush services, which include traditional Indian medical practices, and a huge number of people got advice on living a healthy lifestyle. There was special care for pregnant mothers, with over 45 lakh registering for early checkups.
Immunizations were also given to a large number of mothers and children. The melas also focused on screening for serious health conditions like TB, diabetes, and various types of cancer, benefiting nearly 19 crore people.
Separately, in the Community Health Centre Melas, over 1.5 crore people registered. These melas offered general and specialist medical consultations, along with a significant number of major and minor surgeries.
Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare, Mansukh Mandaviya, shared that 1,70,000 Ayushman Bharat Health and Wellness Centres, now known as ‘Ayushman Arogya Mandir’, have been set up across the country. These centers aim to provide basic health services and screenings to the public.
