Apple’s Self Service Repair Program Will Allow Users to Fix Their iPhone and Mac devices Themselves
California -Apple Inc. announces its Self-Service Repair program that permits Apple customers to purchase certified Apple gadget parts and tools to fix their gadgets themselves.
As indicated by Apple’s Self Service Repair program, users can either fix their Apple devices themselves or give them to an expert for repair. Apple has so far prevented anyone besides approved professionals from fixing their gadgets.
Not all Apple gadgets are a part of this Apple Self Service Repair program. iPhone 12 and iPhone 13 series and Mac PCs with Apple M1 chipset qualify for self-repair. The tech giant hasn’t mentioned other iPhone models or iPads for this program as of now.
Apple will be providing a repair manual and a short video clip to the users, with which they could easily follow steps for repair. People could also send back their old parts and get credited.
However, Apple Inc. has not yet announced or listed the cost of these tools or parts. They have not yet mentioned the credit amount users will receive after returning the old parts.
The starting phase of the program will zero in on the standard service modules like the battery, display, and camera. Further repairs will be available in 2022.
iPhone users have an option to take these purchased original parts from Apple to someone who could repair it.
