Road Safety Ad Video

The policeman Akshay Kumar, who appears in the commercial, mocks the father for putting the newlyweds in a vehicle with only two airbags.
Road Safety Ad Got Criticized
Shiv Sena leader Priyanka Chaturvedi criticized this advertisement as it promoted the evil of dowry. She wrote, “This is a very problematic ad. Who authorizes such creativity?”
She tweeted, “Is the government spending money to promote the safety aspect of the car through this ad, or to promote the evil and criminal practice of dowry?”
Karnataka Congress spokesperson Lavanya Ballal said that taxpayers’ money is being used to promote dowry. He asked, “Is this an advertisement for dowry?”
What a strange way to deflect responsibility by showing 6 airbags (expensive cars) instead of fixing the roads.

However the place where Cyrus Mistry’s car crashed was a danger zone area.
TMC Spokesperson Saket Gokhela also said that the Indian government is officially promoting dowry.
What Is The Actual Essence Of The Road Safety Ad?
This is true that the advertisement is showing the scenario of a wedding where the bride’s father has gifted a car for the newly wedded couple.
But a gift can’t be a dowry every time. We have seen so many occasions where the groom has also gifted a new house or a new car to the bride’s parents. But no one calls it a dowry but a gift!
The intentions of the government, ad makers plus the actors including Akshay Kumar, seems to be good to spread road safety awareness in a creative way. However some opposition leaders took this effort in a different way.
