AIFF Eliminates Secretary-General Shaji Prabhakaran Over Trust Issues
The world of Indian football has seen a big change recently. Shaji Prabhakaran, who was the Secretary General of the All India Football Federation (AIFF), has lost his job.
This is a surprising decision made by the leaders of Indian football. Kalyan Chaubey, who is the boss of the AIFF, decided to end Shaji Prabhakaran’s work with them because they didn’t trust the way he was working.
Shaji Prabhakaran started his important role in AIFF just last year, on September 3, 2022. But after a short time, on a Tuesday, the AIFF President signed a letter that said Shaji Prabhakaran would not work with them anymore.
A big man in AIFF, named NA Haris, told everyone that Shaji Prabhakaran is not going to be the Secretary-General now. Instead, Satyanarayan M, who was working under Shaji Prabhakaran, will do his job for now.
NA Haris explained that the trust between Shaji Prabhakaran and Kalyan Chaubey was not strong and other people in AIFF were not happy with how Shaji Prabhakaran did his job. Before joining AIFF, Shaji Prabhakaran was the president of Football Delhi. He left that job to join AIFF.
Soon, there will be a meeting with all the leaders of AIFF where they will talk about this big change and other important things.
But NA Haris said that the group does not need to agree with the President’s decision to end Shaji Prabhakaran’s job because the President has the power to hire or fire the Secretary-General.

So, Shaji Prabhakaran, who used to handle a lot of important work for football in India, has been removed because the AIFF’s leaders did not have full confidence in him.
Now, we will see Satyanarayan M taking care of those responsibilities until they find someone new. It’s a big change, and it shows how serious AIFF is about having strong trust among its leaders.
