Virat Kohli Ditches Puma, Supports Agilitas to Build One8

Cricketing legend Virat Kohli signals an end to his eight-year, ₹110 crore contract with Puma, investing instead in Agilitas Sports, an Indian startup with an eye to making One8 a global brand.
Founded in 2023 by ex-Puma India head Abhishek Ganguly, Agilitas has already been granted the licensing rights for Lotto in India, Australia, and South Africa. With Kohli now as a partner, the company is eyeing making One8 a worldwide sportswear brand with more stores and collections.
Sources say an official announcement may take place during the IPL. While Puma proposed to renew Kohli’s contract, he appears to have decided on developing a homegrown global brand.
Over the last several months, Kohli has been seen wearing shoes sans Puma logos—it became easier to read between the lines. With backing from Convergent Finance, Nexus Venture Partners, and others, Agilitas has already raised over ₹500 crore and has acquired Mochiko Shoes to strengthen its production.
This is a bold new chapter in Kohli’s off-field venture-trying to make One8 India’s answer to the global sportswear behemoths.
