‘Vidaamuyarchi’ Movie Review: Ajith Kumar’s Action Thriller Receives Strong Opening Despite Mixed Reviews

As early reviews of ‘Vidaamuyarchi’ start pouring in, Ajith Kumar’s newest action thriller has created an impressive opening at the box office on 6th February 2025. Even though aggregators of movie reviews and ratings at IMDB are still being compiled, the movie has already created quite a buzz by fetching the massive booking of Rs 19.28 crore with blocked seats. The initial reviews are so promising, at least, of a gripping tale, although the ratings are diverse from platform to platform.
The high-budget thriller, which is making waves across review platforms, is about an intense rescue mission in Azerbaijan. Movie reviews particularly talk about the chemistry between Ajith Kumar and Trisha Krishnan, and critics have praised the film’s production value of Rs 225-330 crore. This adaptation of the 1997 American film ‘Breakdown’ has certainly gained much notice from critics and reviewers, where most have admired it for technical brilliance while a few have gone for mixed ratings. However, despite the variation in reviews, commercial success looks to be more than assured because advance booking for over 7.15 lakh tickets for Tamil version alone was overbooked.
