Ukraine’s President And Foreign Minister Seek India’s Help
The Ukraine President wrote to PM Modi and asked for additional humanitarian supplies. Ukraine’s foreign minister also seeked India’s help to end Russia’s war.
In a letter to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky requested more humanitarian supplies, including medicines and medical devices.
Emine Dzhaparova, the First Deputy Foreign Minister of Ukraine, delivered the letter during her three-day trip to India.
In addition, she and Union Minister Meenakshi Lekhi discussed bilateral and international issues of mutual interest.
This is the first official visit to India by a Ukrainian minister since the beginning of the Russia-Ukraine conflict.
PM Modi has urged both Zelensky and Russian President Vladimir Putin to terminate the conflict through dialogue and diplomacy in telephone conversations.
During a meeting with Putin in September of last year, Modi emphasized the urgency of ending the conflict, declaring that “today’s era is not of war.”
The Indian government has pledged to provide humanitarian aid to the affected Ukrainian civilian population.
Ukraine’s President Zelensky Writes To PM Modi For Help
Volodymyr Zelensky, the president of Ukraine, has written to Narendra Modi, the prime minister of India, demanding more humanitarian aid, particularly medication and medical supplies.
During the three-day trip to India, Emine Dzhaparova, the first deputy foreign minister of Ukraine, delivered the letter. Additionally, she spoke with Union Minister Meenakshi Lekhi about matters of bilateral and global interest.
Since the start of the Russia-Ukraine conflict, this is the first official trip by a Ukrainian minister to India.
Zelensky and Russian President Vladimir Putin have both been contacted by PM Modi by telephone to urge them to engage in negotiation and diplomacy in order to resolve the situation.
Asserting that “today’s era is not of war,” Modi emphasized the urgency of putting an end to the war during a meeting with Putin in September of last year. India has also pledged to help the impacted civilian population through humanitarian aid.
