1. Lal Bahadur Shastri
Lal Bahadur Shastri is remembered as the most honest & greatest prime minister of India. He did his duty very well with great honesty & hard work.
He also gave the slogan, ‘Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan’ during the India-Pakistan war. The bravery of the Indian Army & Shashtri Ji’s strategies brought victory to the country.

Lal Bahadur Shastri effortlessly pushed socialist measures for the Indian farmer sector. Unfortunately, on 11th Jan, 1966 he died under suspicious circumstances in Tashkent and his murder case is still unsolved.
However, all Indians still celebrate his birthday on 2nd October as the national holiday of India.
2. Atal Bihari Vajpayee
Atal Bihari Vajpayee was one of the most honest & respected political leaders of India. His ruling period is still considered as the golden period of India. Even opposition parties & leaders respect him a lot.
Atal Bihari Vajpayee was awarded Padma Vibhushan in 1992 and Bharat Ratna in 2016. The nuclear tests were launched successfully under his governance in 1988.

He passed significant measures rather than holding a coalition government of several political parties. In 1994, he also introduced the National Stock Exchange’s computer-based trading system.
When he was prime minister of India, the Babri Mosque demolition and the open economy policy were the two major events. He made significant measures to improve the nation’s internal security.
5. Chaudhary Charan Singh
Chaudhary Charan Singh was against the socialist policies that Jawaharlal Nehru had implemented. He soon rose to become the favorable leader of the peasants in North India.
He had served as Uttar Pradesh’s chief minister as well. In 1967, Charan Singh broke away from the Congress party to found his own party the Bharatiya Kranti Dal.
From July 1979 until January 1980, he was India’s prime minister. He is known as the “Peasant Champion of India.” He is best noted for his efforts to improve the lives of farmers.
6. Inder Kumar Gujral
I. K. Gujral served briefly but made a mark with his political policies. His Gujral doctrine, which placed a strong emphasis on preserving peace with the neighboring countries, has received a lot of attention.
His stance was that India should make peace efforts to its neighbors without anticipating a response in kind. He was criticized for disbanding RAW (Indian Intelligence Agency).
Due to his involvement in the Quit India campaign, he was put in prison. Following India’s independence in 1947, he joined the INC party in 1964 and was eventually elected to the Rajya Sabha.
During the emergency, he served as the Minister of Information and Broadcasting. He was named India’s ambassador to the Soviet Union in 1976.
7. Rajiv Gandhi
At the age of 40, Rajiv Gandhi was India’s youngest prime minister. He worked as a pilot for the Indian Airlines before entering politics.
Rajiv entered politics in 1980 when Sanjay Gandhi was killed in an aircraft crash. After the attack on Indira Gandhi, he received a vast majority of votes because of widespread sympathy.
There were 2 major, controversial events that occurred while Rajiv Gandhi was prime minister: the Bhopal tragedy and the Shah Bano case.
He was caught in the Bofors scandal and lost his corruption-free image. As a result, he suffered a crushing defeat in the 1989 general elections. He was killed by the LTTE.
8. Chandra Shekhar
From his school years on, Chandra Shekhar was drawn to politics and was regarded as a fiery idealist with a zeal for change.
He has consistently advocated for politics of thought and social transformation while opposing politics of individuals.
He became increasingly drawn to Shri Jayaprakash Narayan and his idealistic philosophy of life as a result.
9. Manmohan Singh
Manmohan Singh was considered as a good economist and thinker who served as an Indian PM. He served in major posts like Chief Economic Advisor, RBI Governor & Head of Planning Commission.
Many people suspected him to be controlled by the supreme leader of the congress party. Many Indians consider him as one of the weakest PMs of India.

10. Morarji Desai
Morarji Desai was India’s first non-Congress Prime Minister. He was made prime minister after the emergency.
He had leaked so much confidential information of Indian Army, scientists as well as India’s nuclear programs to Pakistan & other countries.
As a result Pakistan’s President awarded him with Pakistan’s highest civilian award Nishan-e-Pakistan. Due to his disloyalty with India, Pakistan got nuclear weapons and so many Indian soldiers & scientists got killed.
