The proceedings over the defamation case against Delhi CM stayed – Delhi Court
BJP Media Head of Delhi, Praveen Shankar Kapoor accused the Delhi CM Atishi Marlena and the former CM Arvindh Kejriwal for defaming the reputation of him and his party on the social media & at the press conferences. He alleged that CM Atishi imposed a false accusation like BJP’s bribery to snatch the AAP legislators from their party. But, CM Atishi claimed that she was offered money to switch to BJP with the intimidation of arrest by the ED. She underscored that the AAP leaders were offered Rs.25 crores to join BJP.
Praveen Kapoor, cited all her allegations along with the press conference statements of CM Atishi which lead to the defamation and destroy of his and his party’s reputation.
“The BJP has approached me through someone very close. They have asked me to join the BJP and said this will save my political career. They have threatened that if I didn’t switch over, ED will arrest me within a month” – statement of CM Atishi at a press conference which was quoted by Kapoor on his allegation.
Delhi Court Stays the case
Based on the informations stated by ANI and other trustable sources, the counsel of BJP Media Praveen Kapoor, Shoumendu Mukherjee reinforced during the hearing about a legal notice which was sent to CM Atishi after her deliberate allegations over BJP at a press conference.
“In the entire speech, she neither revealed specific information about the source of information nor you have given any details qua the act of BJP the act of BJP. Devoid of any specificity your statement is an intensional endeavor to reflect your own imagination and apprehension.”
On November 22, 2024, during the hearing of the defamation case against CM Atishi, filed by Praveen Kapoor, BJP Media Head, Delhi. The proceedings of the case was stayed by Judge Vishal Gogne and listed this case’s next hearing on December 2, 2024.
“It is directed that the proceedings before the trial court shall remain stayed till further orders. List for submissions on December 2, 2024” said Judge Vishal Gogne.
A rejoinder has been submitted during the hearing by the counsel of CM Atishi with emphasis on the appeal as a “devoid of merit and liable to be dismissed”.
