The Legend of Prince Rama to be re-released on January 24
The beloved 1993 Japanese-Indian animated film “Ramayana: The Legend of Prince Rama” is due for a grand theatrical re-release on January 24, 2025. Initially planned to premiere in October 2024, the release was moved forward to provide the viewers with better quality of work. The classic adaptation will have higher video quality of 4K resolution and better audio quality of the film in Hindi, English, Tamil, and Telugu versions.
The movie was made by three directors working in a trio – Yugo Sako, Ram Mohan, and Koichi Sasaki where Arun Govil lent his voice to Rama. At the same time, Namrata Sawhney for Sita, and the late Amrish Puri for Ravana, and the show is narrated by Shatrughan Sinha. And even though Turquoise was screened at the 24th International Film Festival of India in 1993, the movie found its audience mostly by playing on local television in the early 2000s. The theatrical release is the first time the people of India will witness the animated movie which is soon to be released and the trailer is expected to launch on January 10, 2025.
