India vs West Indies 1st T20I Highlights: Team India defeated West Indies by 68 runs in the 1st match of the 5 T20 series. Dinesh Karthik won the title of ‘The Man of The Match.’
In the first T20 International of the 5-match series, India took a commanding 68 run lead against West Indies thanks to the bowling of captain Rohit Sharma & Dinesh Karthik.
In terms of runs, this is the second-largest victory for the Indian side over the West Indies. The team had previously defeated the West Indies by 71 runs on November 6, 2018, in Lucknow.

Although Man of the Match Karthik hit 41 runs in his undefeated innings of 19 balls with the aid of various fours and two sixes, Rohit smashed 64 runs in 44 balls with 7 fours and 2 sixes.
With Ravichandran Ashwin (13 not out), he formed a continuous 52-run collaboration for the 7th wicket. After scoring 190 runs for six wickets, India controlled the West Indies squad for 122 runs with eight wickets.
Indian bowlers were picking off batsmen at regular intervals, and none of them averaged more than 6.50 runs each game.
Ashwin, Ravi Bishnoi, and Arshdeep Singh claimed two wickets. Ravindra Jadeja and Bhuvneshwar Kumar both achieved success.
During this time, Rohit once more surpassed all other T20 International run scorers. In replacement of Rohit 2 days ago, Martin Guptill of New Zealand became the player to score the most runs in this format.
The two teams were separated by 21 runs prior to the game, but the Indian skipper played a great innings and set a record in his honor.
In T20 Internationals, Guptill has 3399 runs while Rohit now has 3443 runs. In pursuit of the objective, Kyle Myers quickly established himself against Bhuvneshwar & Arshdeep with fours and sixes.
However, Arshdeep was already captured by Bhuvneshwar in the 2nd over, putting an end to Myers’ 15 runs in six balls innings.

After bowling Jason Holder for no runs in the following over, Ravindra Jadeja gave Bhuvneshwar the sixth over’s maiden, and Shamra Brooks pointed the path to the pavilion.
West Indies were in trouble after losing 3 wickets for 42 runs during the powerplay. Nicholas Pooran (18), the captain, relieved Hardik Pandya of some of the load, and Rovman Powell (14) smashed a six against Jadeja.
In the eighth over, Ashwin had Pooran caught by Pant, and in the twelfth over, Powell was bowled by Ravi Bishnoi, who also sent half of the West Indies team to the pavilion.
Shimron Hetmyer, who was back in the lineup, was dismissed by Ashwin for 14 while Bishnoi nearly secured an Indian triumph by stumping Odin Smith without making a run. The West Indies batters then finished playing the entire over as per protocol.
