The wait is nearly over for fans of the superhit espionage series. The much-anticipated season 2 was meant to launch on 11 July, but has now been pushed back to 18 July, and will drop all episodes together on Jiocinema. Directed by Shivam Nair, Special Ops 2 sees Menon reprise his famous role as H&AW officer Himmat Singh, as he now takes his elite team into the sphere of cyber warfare.
This time, the antagonist is Cyber Terrorism
Special Ops 2 takes on a new threat, in a comment that is, criminals use cyberspace to commit cyber terrorism, to bludgeon other individuals, but more importantly, do it until it becomes normalized.
Unlike the conventional threats responded to by season one, Special Ops 2 examines the shadowy world of digital warfare and cyber terrorism. The premise is around Himmat Singh and his team planning a high-stakes mission to find and destroy an enemy that is operating deep in the virtual sphere – an enemy indulging in attacks on the Indian country, meaning attacking the Republic of India. Once people complain to the military, and the army gets involved, national sovereignty is hanging by a thread, a powder keg ready to blow. The season is also particularly timely, given that the storyline concerns international situations, which are always pertinent to any citizen.
